Dr. Kwame Safo-Adu, my beloved uncle has passed away. He was a one-time passed former Minister of Agriculture in the Busia regime and a founding member of the New Patriotic Party has passed away at the blessed age of 81.
This sad event occurred at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra in the early hours of Friday, October 2, 2009 following a short illness.
Dr Safo-Adu served as Minister of Agriculture in Dr Busia's government, and served as a member of the Council of State under Dr Hilla Liman. He was Member of Parliment for Manhyia in the Second Republic, and contested elections to be NPP Presidential Candidate in the 1992 and 1996 primaries of the NPP.
